FMA works closely with the Finance Department Advisory Board (FDAB) and Beach Investment Group (BIG) – CSULB-affiliated organizations dedicated to enhancing our members' professional development and network. THE FINANCE DEPARTMENT ADVISORY BOARD (FDAB)
The CSULB Finance Department Advisory Board (FDAB) is a volunteer board dedicated to supporting the Finance student population and working with the Finance Department Chair on various focus areas. The board has 20 members from many industries such as aerospace, financial services, pension management, entertainment, fashion, and biopharma.
The CSULB Finance Department Advisory Board is dedicated to giving back to finance students.
The Finance Department Advisory Board (FDAB) provides the following services:

Student Engagement and Networking: Internship programs, networking, hiring opportunities, student engagement, and industry involvement

Scholarship Funding: In 2022, a scholarship fund was established and will initially award 2-$500 scholarships in the fall semester.

Raising Program Visibility (Finance Department): FDAB primarily assists with Finance Symposium administration and speaker recruitment

Beach Investment Group (BIG): FDAB provides BIG activity review and oversight

FDAB SCHOLARSHIP
The FDAB Scholarship is a 500-word prompt offered to FMA members on a semestral basis. Scholarship winners are rewarded up to $500 in total! To apply for the FDAB Scholarship, click the button below!
Beach Investment Group (BIG)
Beach Investment Group (BIG), formerly known as Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF), is a program that allows students to work with four portfolios that total up to $1.3 million in assets under management (AUM). Students who become B.I.G. members and commit to the program for one year earn honors class credit for their work.
At the undergraduate level, B.I.G. is designated as FIN 499A and FIN 499B for the fall and spring semesters, respectively. At the graduate level, B.I.G. is designated as FIN 699A and FIN 699B, for the fall and spring semesters, respectively.
In addition to managing the university's portfolios, B.I.G. participates in the following competitions and presentations:

B.I.G. members also have the opportunity to travel to New York for the Annual Q-Game Forum!
